Dear All,

I apologise for not keeping in touch as times have been very busy in London. However, I believe that Charles Danaher is the son of Philip Danaher who emigrated from Monemohill to Australia. If so, Charles had a first cousin living in London at the time who was Margaret Harney (nee Danaher) my Grandmother. As I explained earlier during my introduction to this website, my Grandmother was the illegitimate daughter of Daniel Danaher. Maragaret, always, hid the identity of her maiden name and would never allow it to be mentioned. Therefore, it would be extremely doubtful if Charles knew of my Grandmother.

In 1941, my Father was barely a year old and would have been hiding in a shelter in Wales from the air raid bombing. Those years were particularly disturbing for my Grandmother. My Grandfather was embroiled in one of the most onerous tasks of being a Fireman. But my Father would have been delighted to hear that we are related to Charles who played an important role in countering the German air raids in London.

At some stage, I intend to be visiting Australia in the near future. I have friends and relations living in Newcastle and Melbourne. I hope to travel to Brisbane, one day, and would be delighted to meet my relations there.

Kind regards

Austin Harney.
