Thank you for that Maurice.
So it must have been Bridget that had the collection of photographs of the Australian Danahers. Most probably they would have been sent to her from her brother Philip, after he migrated to Australia. Keeping in contact with the family they left behind in Ireland & suprisingly connecting us all nearly a century later!
How nice that they were so close.
I can see a real resemblance between Bridget & Dr Jim Danaher's picture. They were also brother & sister?
Happy Retirement Maurice.

Siobhan,

Sorry for not responding sooner but i am recovering from my retirement party ! in fact several parties !

This Bridget Danaher's maiden name was also Danaher. She was the daughter of John Danaher and Margaret Cummane from Monemohill. She was probably related to her husband but I have not established this yet. She was my grandmother.
Regards,
Maurice

ahhhh. this is the cousin descendant marrying cousin descendant here... not uncommon among the late or all of the19th century in Ireland or all of Europe. Ok. very acceptable and pushed in some families. Mary Sikes speaks of cousins sometimes marrying. This is a very formal shot or photo... she has the bouquet in her hand and the scarf...and I would say they were well off.. with their dresses and one has a corset on, her waist coat is tucked in... so I would say this is 1890's photo or early 1900...could be a debutante photo... daughter coming of age maybe.... or just mother and daughter together .... did she have a daughter margaret... sometimes like Jimmy for James, Jack for John .... Rita was a substitute name for Margaret? There is definitely resemblance here.
